An amber colored ale, Black Isle Red Kite is brewed using only the highest quality Maris Otter pale and crystal malts for flavor and body. Challenger hops for bittering with the late addition of Styrian Goldings creates a balance of quenching citrus and malt, and a classic aromatic finish to this refreshing ale. This beer is bright amber with a toasted nut flavor and powerful orange fruit aroma.

(bottle) Clear, amber colour with a firm and slightly tanned foamy head. Toast-malty aroma with notes of caramel and walnuts, accompanied by a berry-fruity and slightly citric touch. Sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Mildly toasted malty taste with caramel, bready and nutty notes, also rather subtle fruity accents; sweet-bitter toast-malty finish with a balanced herbal hoppy touch. Nice. 23.VIII.13

500ml bottle. Orangey-red amber colour, creamy white foam head and malty aroma with slight roast, biscuit & spicy notes. Taste is sweet biscuity malt with caramel, toffee, dark fruits and a light spice bitterness. Smooth mouth feel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry finish. Quite OK.

Bottle at home. The colour is clear dark amber with a medium beige head that fades fast. A bit sweet and faint aroma with caramel, leather, wood and some nutty malt. More pronunced flavour with caramel, some fruits and hops. Slick mouth feel, and has a light to medium bitterness. The aroma is a bit weak but flavour is okay and balanced.

Draught @ GEIB, Grande Esposizione Italiane della Birra 2012, Nuova Fiera di Roma, via Portuense 1645, Rome, Italy 00100.Clear medium to dark orange amber colour with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, light yeasty, UK yeast. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, earthy, caramel, fruity, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. 500ml bottle bought at The Cave. Beige, bubbly head slowly fading over a clear golden-brown body. Laces well. Aroma of red and dark fruits. Pleasantly flavoured with dark fruits added by caramel malts and bitter spices towards the ending. Fresh fruity mouthfeel (hotel room, Glasgow 13.04.2012).

50cl bottle from CM-Vantaa. BBE 03/2013. Poured mahogany color with a white lasting head, lacing. Aroma has ryebread and toffeeish notes. Flavor has caramel, hops, toffee. Dry, bitter finish. Medium carbonation. Nice aftertaste, leaves a satisfying taste that makes you long for another sip. Light to medium bodied.

Bottled (from K Citymarket Lielahti, Tampere). Reddish amber colour with a mediumsized beige foamy head. Aroma is mild crystal malts, some bready notes as well as some floral, fruity and quite herbal and spicy notes. Flavour is mild toasted notes, some crystal malty crispyness as well as fruity and floral with a gentle bitterness kicking in. Pleasant tonguetickling carbonation.

Draught at Bishop’s Arms Folkugagatan, Stockholm. Clearp copper, firm head. Fruity nose with mild peat. Sweet and salty. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Sugar and red apples, mild caramelm and ash. Low bitterness.
