At the mouth of the Camel Estuary in Rock, lies the treacherous Doom Bar sandbank, the inspiration for this moreish amber ale.
The sandbank is revered as a formidable nautical challenge that should be approached with respect and navigated with skill.

Cask at The Gordon Highlander, Inverurie. It pours clear deep amber - brown with a forth off-white cap. The aroma is woody, twiggy, brown bread, rivita, earthy, nut and leather. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, toothy, chewy, earthy, twiggy, wood, tannin, spice and leather with a drying finish. Average body and soft carbonation. It's fine, but that's about it.
