Our full strength IPA nods to the best I found whilst travelling the U.S – the result is deceptively drinkable, with a burnt orange colour and full flavour in the mouth. Huge amounts of simcoe & centennial hops find their way into the kettle, with even more sneaking in post fermenation for a ‘proper’ IPA flavour.

On tap at Brewdog Birmingham, pours a cloudy orange copper with a small white head. Nose brings out dry piney hops, dry crackery malt, and some floral hops. Flavour is extremely astringent and dry - really quite harsh - with lots of boozy notes, pine and crackery malt. Not very well-balanced. A bit difficult to drink. Still, decent stuff.

Bottle from Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Fresh into the shop. Which, from reading previous ratings, may be relevant. Anyhow, it’s hazy, dark orange, with a thin, sticky, lasting, off white head. It has that thick, sweet, fusty mandarin, toffee thing going on. Juicy, minty and lightly medicinal. Taste is sweet, for a nanosecond, then loads of pink grapefruit bitterness. Oily, chewy, palate. Long, zesty, bitter finish. Lovely.
