Lattina. Il gusto al naso propende per liquirizia, pane nero e cioccolato. L'olfatto viene stimolato in maniera è elevata, permanendo in maniera è apprezzabile.

On tap at Drunken Duck. lack with dense beige head. Roasted, coffee, chocolate, nice bitter finish. Moderately sweet. Easy drinkable and yet complex enough. Get a tad sticky as it warms up, but still superb.

500ml bottle. Quasi black colour with small to average, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Roasty, slightly chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of coffee, dark chocolate, hints of roasted coffee beans, a touch of burnt coffee, liquorice, light herbal hoppy overtones with whiffs of mint, additional weak overtones with a touch of peat and leather. Taste is roasty dark malty and herbal hoppy with mutually cumulative roasty and hoppy bitterness, notes of coffee, some liquorice, mint, woodruff, eucalyptus, some dark chocolate, weak undertones of peat and leather. Minimally creamy-oily, watery texture, smooth and soft, minimally greasy palate, fine, soft, still efficacious carbonation. Quite bitter, rather complex - good.

Pours very dark brown to opaque black, with a very thin dark yellow/brownish head despite quite hard pouring. Recedes quite quickly as well. Feels quite flat/weak in the aroma as well, with a not too bright roasted malts base (clean notes of ground coffee) mellowed by softer milk or milk chocolate notes (oatmeal stout like). Maybe the slightest balsamic hint. Taste is a little brighter: roasted malts base with notes of coffee and a softer oatmeal stout like feel as per aroma, light red/dried fruit notes, a quite nice clean, slightly astringent finish with some balsamic hints. Overall quite mellow and not too bitter for the style, kind of in the middle between standard stout/porter and oatmeal stout. Mouthfeel feels quite flat/tired too, with a medium body that is not supported by enough carbonation; feels too empty. Possibly an unlucky bottle, felt too 'tired' despite being only 1 and a half months from bottling. I had excellent beers from this brewery so far so i may rerate in the future. Edit: tried again 24/3/2023. Though a little more bright in the aroma the impressions are pretty much confirmed. Not my favorite clearly.

Sample during Leuven Innovation '22, shared with Tderoeck and Untappd duo.

On tap @ Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fà. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and nuts. Pours clear almost black color with thin creamy light brown head and nice lacing. Taste starts medium sweet and rich roasted malt and coffee, following is nutty with chocolate, leathery and dark fruity notes, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is pretty bitter. Medium body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. Robust and bold…
