Mermaid’s Red™ bucks the shallow mid-range red ale stereotype. Loaded with Cascade hops, it delivers a fresh floral aroma and sharp bitter notes, all while delivering a solid kick of roasted malts that fades seamlessly into a rich, chocolaty finish with hints of clove and caramel.

Hazy amber color with small tan head. Hoppy, with bitter bready malts. Taste is dry, bready, hoppy-bitter. Smooth carbonation. Nice!

@ Baden Baden. Dark brown color with a light beige head. aroma has notes of dry nuts with some toffee and light spices. Flavor is quite similar as aroma but spices are more present, caramelish notes. Light bittery final with nutty hints.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a hazy amber with a small white head. Nose is on the dry malty side, with toasted bread and faint dry caramel notes. Flavour is more balanced, bringing out toasted bready malt and a strong piney hop presence on the other side. Not the most interesting amber, but it's well-balanced and clean. Solid but forgettable.

Tap at irreale, they assured me it was the US version. Dark Amber, creamy golden brown head. Roasted notes initially, coffee, light metallic herbs, grassy hops, a hint berries. Hard to pigeonhole, which is nice. Comes on as a Porter, looks like a Amber ale and finishes like a German pils. I am intrigued, chapeau!
