Un Imperial Stout classic în care am folosit 8 tipuri de malț + ovăz și 1 tip de hamei (Simcoe). Practic am vrut să facem o bere mai "light" decât restul berilor cu care v-am obișnuit, sub 10% ABV.
A ieșit o bere densă, uleioasă, pitch black, în care am vrut să scoatem în evidență arome de ciocolată neagră, ciocolată cu lapte și caramel. O bere care să te fure, să fie foarte ușor de băut iar alcolul practic nici să nu se simtă, dar să te "lovească"
Ingredients: water, malt, oats, wheat, hops, yeast.

Black colour with no head.Aroma is sweet of bourbon and candy mild hint of earth and soy sweet ofter taste and mild tart finish.

Bottle shared at tasting. Opaque black color, small light brown head. Aroma is malts, roasted malts, dark malts. Flavor is malts, dark malts, a distant soft sweet note, soft roast. Decent body, suitable carbonation. Quite alright.

Fles gedeeld door Roelzie, geprobeerd met Benzai en Keukeman. Het is een diep donkerbruin tot zwart bier met een dun schuim. Het heeft een gebrande moutige geur met tonen van koffie. De smaak is vol, gebrande mout, koffie en chocolade.

330ml bottle from trade (thanks Neil). Pours pitch black with an enormous frothy tan head (over-carbed?). Aroma of roast malts, dark chocolate, coffee. Taste is all malts, roasty, dark chocolate, coffee, hint of dark fruits, bitter. Medium body and carbonation.

15 December 2018. Black Beer Fest, Ieper. Cheers to Anke, Erwin & Ama Deke! Hazy black with a lasting, small, frothy, beige head; some lacing. Aroma of walnut oil, old toast, coffee bean, medicin, even a whiff of 'hospital hallway', I. e. 'disinfectant', blackcurrant, (burnt) rubber, dried prune. Taste is light malty sweet, brown bread, walnut, a bit fruity with a touch of blackcurrant; light to medium roasted bitter with toast, coffee bean, smoky edge, medicinal & herbal accent too. Dry, earthy, almost piney hoppy finish, lingering coffee bean, toast, warming herbal liqueur alcohol. Medium to full body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Not a bad beer, just messy, that medicinal aspect needs to go.

Opaque black, mocha head with a little lacing. The aroma is subtle chocolate and treacle, dark sugars, a slight hint of tobacco, probably some hops with a touch of aspirin. The taste starts sweet, dark sugars and treacle - a bit simplistic - followed by moderate to strong pungent grassy (some medicine here too) bitterness. Solid, thick mouthfeel. No perceivable alcohol at all. Yep, a a simpler version of their earlier stouts, but still... Very good.
