Kasteel Hoppy is a blonde speciality beer that fits perfectly into the wave of IPA beers (Indian Pale Ale). Thanks to the addition of herbs and the mildly malty character, the youngest member of the Kasteel range is not a ‘hop bomb’. Kasteel Hoppy is a full-bodied blonde beer predominated by the aromas of hops. However, the bitter taste does not dominate.

Bottled 330ml. -from Svijet Piva Zagreb. Clear golden coloured, small to medium sized white head, lively carbonation, mild grassy nose. Soft and really pleasant grassy hoppy and spicy taste with mild spicy finish. No trace of 6.5%. Easy going beer.

Clear golden color, small white head. Grassy, a bit cat pissy, spicey hoppy aroma with hints of cardboard. Medium-bodied. Grassy hoppyness, slightly papery. Belgian yeast meets German hops. Clinic and uninteresting.

Bottle. More or less clear in the glass, golden colored and with a small, dense, off-white head. Phenolic aroma with grassy hops, yeast and some pale malts. Rubbery hints. The flavor too has quite a lot of yeast, with the same grass and pale malts found in the aroma. Herbal notes and some artificial pear as well. Medium to full body with a pleasant carbonation level. Decent bitterness all the way, but it’s way too yeasty for me, almost like bakers yeast. 140111

Bottle: Golden, visible carbonation, small and slowly vanishing white foamy layer; kind of herbal hops, grains, pale malt and cooked vegetables in the nose; quite dry bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; slightly lingering citrussy-hoppy finish. Dry and bitter, but not much more. Belgian ales and belgian hops, a weird combination...
