Molenbier was one of the first beers ever made by our brew-master Menno Olivier. Although the recipe was tweaked over time it still is the same light sweet, medium bitter yet rather hoppy beer as it was intended to be.

Appearance: Dark brown, hazy. Some light tan head.
Aroma: Yeast, slight sourness. Tart fruit?
Taste: Sweetness and sourness, actually. Fruits, hops, dry. Not the best from this brewery.
Bought: Saveur-Biere.com, 330 ml, €3.20

hazy brownish orange colour, morerate sized, dense, long lasting yellowish head; aroma of caramel, overripe fruits, floral hops, and hints of honey; taste of intensive maltyness, caramel, honey, fruity notes, some grapefruits and hoppy bitterness - a bit like a barley wine with lower amount of malts and hops - a BARELY wine :-)

Bottle from De Molen. Poured a cloudy medium brown with a long-lasting thin white head. The aroma is caramel treacle toffee alcohol. The flavour is medium bitter sweet with a rich sweet malt alcoholic palate and a smooth short bitter finish. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation.

--- Beer merged from original tick of Molenbier on 17 May 2018 at 16:28 - Score: 7

Bottle - Boozey caramel, brown sugar and bread. Cloudy copper with a rich big beige head. Tons of caramel and candied sugars, bit of bread and some bitterness. Very nice, especially if you like caramel.

Reddish-brown, white head and nice visible carbonation. Nose has citrus, lychee, some toast, fruitcake. Something soapy in there as well. Taste is fruity, nice citrus, berries, medium bitter with a tart and long finish. Medium body with above-average carbonation. Overall: nice beer, but the soapy thing doesn’t do it for me. If it had a bit heavier maltyness it would be more balanced. Still enjoyable though, and definately interesting.

Gusher! Very hazy amber beer, mahoooosive pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and crisp and semi dry. Lots of bitterish brett. A little fruit underneath but this is really brett dominated. Dry finish. Infected?
