Dark red amber. Short-lived beige head. Caramel, butterscotch, orange peel, chocolate, biscuit. Soft and creamy, low on CO2. Fast-paced, well balanced. Strange after-taste with hints of wheat flour, mushrooms and malt. Nice, but definitely not the best from La Trappe.

Bottle @olutexpo 2014. Deep amber, thick white head. Sweet dark fruity, dubbel aroma. Sweet, dark fruity, yeasty, white bready flavor. Really good dubbel.

Bottle at Olutexpo 2014, Helsinki. Colour is cloudy orange with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Dark fruits, sweetness, Belgian yeast and malts. Pretty soft.

750 ml bottle from Binnys. Nice all around Belgian Ale. Orchard fruit and yeast are dominant flavors, aroma too. Hazy brown with small soapy beige head.

750ml bottle thanks to Steve. Pours out a hazy amber topped with a tan head. Nose is green apple Bartlett pears and a nice belg yeast. Taste is as the nose with a nice fruit basket and a good belg yeast. A nice spice on the end.

Flaska från SB. Enligt etiketten en blandning av deras dubbel och Isidor. Brun, klar, lågt skum. Murrig söt fruktig maltig doft med lite estrar och brun läsk typ trocadero. Söt men tunn kropp, skulle mått bra av att ha en kraftigare kropp nu blir den lite platt. ok men inte mer.

Smak och doft av malt, humle, karamell, honung, trocadero läsk, brunt socker. Bubblig, för lite sötma. Obalanserad och för lätt kropp.

Appearance: Hazy amber colour with an off-white head.
Aroma: Caramel, yeast, malt, fruit.
Body: Medium body and carbonation. Smooth, soft mouthfeel.
Flavour: Caramel, fruit, malt, hops.
Comment: Not a regular cork, but a plastic one. Not easy to get off, took a while of rocking it back and forth to slowly ease it out of the bottle.

Apparently a mixture of the recipes of the two beers preferred by father Bernardus, the abbott of Koningshoeven for 25 years and brewed in his honour to celebrate this service record. Tasted from draft at the Trappistenfeesten in Berlare. Stable, irregularly edged, lightly tanned head, colour a dark bronze with a rusty brown hue; aroma nutty and somewhat smoky, candi sugar, pear, dates, bourbon, leather and unfortunately clear oxidation as well; taste rounded, sweet with a somewhat sticky effect, red fruits, spicy accents, orangey, then a caramel- and nut-like, smooth maltiness, a bit slick, aftertaste with both a spicy hoppiness and a bit of warming, bourbon-like alcohol, dryish, medium long with a bit of stickiness from the beginning lingering on.
