Tap @ BBF14, Oirschot. Clear amber colour with a fairly large off-white head. Smells sweet, malty, wort, hay, barnyard. Tastes slightly buttery, malty, sweet, wheat, roze kermis zoetstok, candy.. Pretty horrible imo. Thin body, soft carbo.

750 ml bottle. Pours a clear reddish brown will huge head. Aromas of raisins, roasted malts and metal. Flavors are much the same with some light spice. Overall weaker than the original Quad but still tasty. A session Trappist!

(Bottle, 0.75 l - BBE 08-2015, at Oluthuone Rotterdam, 20140509) The beer poured deep red and quite clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, soap, Belgian style yeast and caramel. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, sweetness, malts, Belgian style yeast and bitterness. Afteraste was fruity, yeasty and bitter. A very fruity and quite crispy brew. The soapiness was weird.

75cl bottle from SB cons 2014-05-03 Göteborg, shared with friends the cork designer should be kicked - took 10 min to get the thing out! AR: yeasty, caramel, pretty wage for a trappist AP: clear amber, frothy crème brulee colored head F: yeasty, caramel, fizzy wee bubbles, watery / hollow, this one was pretty boring

750 c&c from Monument in Concord, CA. Pours hazy dark copper with a beige head. Smells like an English ale. Floral hops. A touch of must. Lightly roasted caramel. Blind taste, I’d be putting this in England. But as a major advance! For me it’s like a less roasty version of Fullers Vintage Old Ale. Which means I love the malt and hop working seamlessly together to make a very delicious ale. My rating scepticism is melting away. Oh to be in England. Or Belgium. Or even, dare I think, "Holland".

Bottled@vPBFIII. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is alcohol, fruits, some yeast and mild toffeeish notes. Flavour is bready, sweet malts, some grainy notes as well. Balanced, but not too exciting. Still pleasant though.
