From cask at The Four Candles, Oxford, Oxfordshire, on tour to 22 southern counties with OGJ and EE 03.01.19. Ebony with a red hue. Served witghout sparkler. Fine beige head and lacing. Inviting aroma of roasted barley, vanilla and chocolate. Similar, and sweet, taste.

Cask, half pint. Tasted on the 28/01/2018 at "The Strattford Alehouse", Strattford (England). Dark brown with a tiny tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, vanilla, dried fruits and brown sugar. Taste is plums, chocolate and roasted malts. Sweet finish. Low carbonation. Next one please!

Tried at the Royal Hop Pole, Twekesbury. Dark Amber brown, with a tan foamyhead. Very light aroma of fruit. The taste has light coffe and cocoa, with dark fruit, and a touch of toast.

Cask, handpump at The Old Green Tree, Bath, Saturday 25th January 2014 Pours dark brown a little chestnut in colour I guess, not much in the way of a head. More of a fruity stout than a rich stout in my opinion, in fact until I just read the description I wouldn’t have even guessed it was a stout. One of those beers that you just drink without giving it too much thought. A bit boring but overall ok. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Cask at the Belle Vue, High Wycombe. Dark brown with a moderate creamy head. Sweet from the start; brown sugar is dominant, with some chocolate too. Roasted malts make an appearance late in the day and don’t quite balance it. Maybe a little thin too. Pleasant enough but rather on the sweet side for me.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 26/11/2012. Dark brown with red undertones and a decent, off-white head. Sweet, berry fruits and caramel aroma with some milk chocolate. Flavour had more chocolate and fruit, with a sweet edge leading to a dryish, slightly roasty finish. Good.
