When introspection fails, it’s time to look outward for inspiration, perhaps Northward! One of the people who inspired me this past year is my friend Gabe Fletcher, of Anchorage Brewing Co. We brewed this biére together. I hope it inspires you. Northward!
Cheers & Mahalo plenty!

Draft at Black Star Co-op, Austin, TX. Pours a light straw color with a mild haziness. White head. Aroma of white wine, lemon, fruit, must. Taste is white wine, fruit, peach, bitter lemon rind, must, spice, yeast, white pepper notes. A bit of funk. Mildly tart. Nice.

Bottle pour at Shelton Brothers. Hazy gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Nice bretty, musty hay aromas with pineapple, orange and a touch of pear. Good carbonation on the palate, more fruit and mustiness. Light peppercorn finish. Really well done.

Tap at Jolly Pumpkin Detroit. Slight hazy golden with white head. Quite peppery, sour berries, grapefruit, grassy hops, some spicy notes, light fresh baked bread. Under medium sour and light sweet. Under medium bodied. Nice one!

Fantastiskt. Men inte riktigt lik bra som Anchorage.

Runder, trocken-bitter säuerlicher Antrunk. Deutliche Brettnoten, dabei noch halbwegs süffig, weiche Bitterkeit. Trockene Holznoten, grasig hopfenbitter, mittellanger, vom Brett dominierter Nachhall. 9/10/9/9/6/9

Pours clear gold into a snifter. Bright white head recedes to bubble rim. Oak and lemon aromas. Bright grapefruit and Brett upfront turning back to grapefruit and then back to Brett in the lasting finish.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Alexey’s place. Blend #3, bottled 4/14. Hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of earth, funk, grapefruit, spice, a bit of lacto and some fruitiness. Sourish flavor, funky, grapefruity, bitterish, with a bit of spiciness. Really nice.
