We love experimenting and having fun with our recipes. ‘Smoking Cinders’ uses a tweaked malt grist from ‘Rising Embers’ (our Sweet Robust Porter), this time with lowered bitterness and added smoked malt. ‘Smoking Cinders’ is a sweet and smokey porter with flavours reminiscent of nostalgic camping trips.

Keg at BD Inverurie. It pours opaque black with a small light tan head. The taste is sweet, sticky, toasted marshmallow, smoke, rocky road, wood, leather, vanilla, sugary and berry. The taste is sweet, sticky, sugary, marshmallow, cranberry, jammy berry, slick, smoked action, charred, slick, sticky and some booze with a drying finish. Medium+ body and fine, foamy carbonation. Decent stuff.

On keg at the Hanging Bat Appearance - close to jet black, dark fawn head. Nose - caramel heading into molasses. Smoke of course. Tastes - more of the same. Also getting chocolate this time. Caramel and smoke are dominant though. Palate - medium bodied at least. Smoky middle and finish. Overall - lovely beer.
