Soaring through the air with grace and fury, the Luchador descends. The multi-limbed warrior carries an elegance in the efficient manner with which he dispatches his foes. Plenty of action, style, and glory await you in this Mexican-Style Chocolate Stout. Sweet flavors blossom from additions of vanilla and cinnamon, while a spicy body gets it’s kick from ancho chile powder. Dark malt flavors provide a robust palette upon which one may don the Chocolate Sombrero.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Stas’s place. Thanks Stas & Max. Black with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, cinnamon, a bit of vanilla, a bit of chili. Roasty flavor with chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, and a light spicy chili touch in the finish. Full-bodied. Very nice.

2021-02-23, bottle from The Gull, North Vancouver, bottled 10/16/2015, 5 years old, 7-4-8-4-17=40
It's a bit undercarbonated; nice chocolate flavour, moderately sweet, mild spices, a bit of tobacco, warm. Probably the bottle that I enjoyed the most, out of this purchase.

2020-06-08, bottle from The Gull, North Vancouver, bottled 10/16/2015, 5 years old, 7-5-8-4-16=40
Black colour with compact beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, cardboard. Good body strength; it's a bit undercarbonated, hence also a bit oily; the roasted malt flavour dominates, hint of peppers and spice, dark chocolate shavings, and eventually no true sign of age.
Holding up well.

2015-08-15, bottle from Jake's Liquor Store, Port Moody, BC, 8-4-8-3-17=40
Jet black color with generous compact brown head. Very nice chocolate aroma, with just a pinch of spices, and a touch of caramel and old wood. Sweet but lean mouthfeel; the chocolate flavor is stronger than some roasted malt; there is a touch of liquorice and an impression of chili pepper; the flavor is fresh; the final is just a bit more boring.
Easily drinkable. Excellent.

On tap at the Porter. Dark, muddy brown color. Nose is chocolate syrup, chicory, black bread, and light roasty notes. Very sweet, with just a touch of bitterness. Heavy body, creamy, and thick. This is a solid, smooth stout, but lacks depth and complexity.
