Bottle from cervejaportuguesa.com. Black with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, light licorice, coffee and light hoppy - pine. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 110718

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 21: black IPA). Bottle 33 cl - Batch unradable (BBF unreadable). AROMA: moderate roasty malt aroma with a dark chocolate character. very faint hop presence with an oxidized note. APPEARANCE: very dark brown color and clear with ruby highlights.Low light-brown head with medium-low retention. TASTE: medium to medium-high roasted malt flavor with a cocoa character. non-existent hop aroma. medium-high bitterness with a roasted and almost dry finish. PALATE: medium body with medium-low carbonation. OVERALL: a black IPA without hop presence.

Appearance: Very dark brown, good amount of creamy dark tan head.
Aroma: Dark malt, roasted, chocolate.
Taste: Dark malt, roasted, dark chocolate. Light bitterness, in the beginning, so borderline porter for me. More bitterness later, putting it back into Black IPA land..

Tasted from the tap on the 08/07/2016 at Caminha Artbeerfest 2016. Dark brown colour with a medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. Taste is medium hoppy with a lot of chocolate. Next one please!
