330ml bottle from Beermoth, Manchester. I should pay more attention to what I’m buying in future.. picked this off the shelf in a hurry and thought it was a wit.. didn’t half get a shock pouring this in the glass! Pours pitch black with beige head.. immediate first impression was of Salopian’s Black Ops imperial stout with amarillo and sorachi ace hops.. except this has amarillo, chinook and Nelson Sauvin.. it’s dark and heavy but with a sharp hoppy zing; melodious hop notes that resonate and sing long after it’s touched your tastebuds. Incredible beer that’ll make the 7 long months until Boreft incredibly painful.

Bottle @ joes shared by him. Pitch black colour with a small light brown head. Dark roasty, heavy cocoa, not a lot of hops because the roastyness overpowers it. Roasty, chocolate, hops, bitter, nice. Doesn?t taste as strong as I expected, but that isn?t really a bad thing. Nice black ipa. Medium to full body, slightly warming, soft carbo.

Bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Poured black with a halo of tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, vanilla and floral hops. Good balance of flavours; cocoa nibs, pine needles and black syrup. Finish was almost meaty with some hop resin, tar and burnt malt. Very well rounded beer and very deceptive on the strength. More zwart than wit, perhaps?

A colablack beer with a medium and beautiful, light brown head. The nose is great, now you can talk about balance, liquirice and salt liquirice, nice hop aromas, citrusfruits and some exotic fruits, some sweetness and smoothness. Taste of coffee and roastiness, pine needles, salt liquirice and grapefruits. The bitterness is not very powerfull, but smooth, balanced and long. Medium bodied, smooth carbonation, enjoyable. Very succesfully black IPA, the great balance but still powerfully and clean flavours.
