Bottle shared by Karol, many thanks! Tasted along with AB:12 and I must say, this beer delivered a blast and won clearly. Aroma smoke, chocolate, very rich, coffee. Light fruity. Colour pitch black with dark brown head. Taste incredibly strong and rich, fresh roasted coffee. Light smoky, very light spicy/chilli. Real pleasure to drink. Finish is spicy, coffee, roasted, light smoked ham. Dry, lightly ashy. Never thought of alcohol with this one. Great beer.

Appearance: Black color with a beige head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Rich chocolate and dark malt.
Palate: Thick oily body. A bit sweet, light spicy and some bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Rich chocolate. Light fruity, coffee and spicy. Dry texture. Well hidden alcohol.
Overall impression: Let it roll around your mouth for a while and you will definitely feel the chilli. Rare with a nice complexity.

Bottle thanks to David and Jenna! (Not on ratebeer). Sampled with friends on December 27, 2012Black color, dark brown head. Vinous, sweet, blueberry, some sweet cherries, fruity scent, also alcohol. Chocolate, bitter, alcohol, vinous, grainy, fudge, raosted taste. Very smooth and lean mouthfeel. Dry, grainy, cocoa aftertaste. High dry bitterness, though well balanced with a raisinous sweetness.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Very black, small head. Aroma of prunes and licorice. Sweet and sugary with full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Tar and raisins, some vanilla. Growing bitterness in a warming, mildly peppery finish. Potent, yet mellow.

330mL bottle, pours a silky jet black with a beautiful small brown head. Nose is luscious and deep, with deep dark chocolate, vanilla and chili peppers that are not at all out place, but rather blended deep into the aromatics - smells just like AB:04. Flavour is extremely complex, with melted high percentage dark chocolate, dark roasted espresso notes, a bit of vanilla, and leaving perfectly situated chili pepper notes, more so than AB:04, but also not that different. This could be my memory failing me, but this doesn't seem that far removed from AB:04; perhaps just a bit less silky and less like it's melting on your tongue. Nevertheless, the palate is still relatively, very silky and smooth, with a very well-balanced assortment of flavours. A great re-creation of my vote for Brewdog's best beers,

Keg at official BrewDog Birmingham Launch Night; dark black pour small mocha head, intense coffee aroma, sticky mouth feel, thankfully the chilli doesn’t overpower other flavours in this stout, the vanilla manages to pop its head up, really good impy stout.

Very faint smell of wine. Black colour with dark brown creamy head. Aroma of coffee, red wine. Negligible carbon. Mild, but clear chili flavour. Also some licorice. A bit less than I expected.

Black color. Intense dusty chilli aroma, some ancho; some coffee too and chocolate. Sweetish flavor, good chocolate, with mild chili pepper presence and some coffee; a good blend indeed, but with a ashy final that is not very elegant.
