Picpoul Blanc is an especially rare grape for wineries to get their hands on, as there are very few planted areas in the country. Imagine how difficult it is then for a brewery to get a chance to brew with them. After years of working to acquire this varietal and press the boundaries of what can be achieved with wine grapes and beer, we at Bruery Terreux finally got our chance. Virtuous Vine is an imperial sour blonde ale aged in French Oak Barrels, featuring juice from pressed whole cluster Picpoul Blanc grapes from Halter Ranch Winery that was blended and re-fermented with our house cultures. We hope you enjoy this rare, luscious treat as much as we enjoyed seeking out the grapes and creating this beer.

Bottle from Beer Republic. Aroma is vinous and very fruity with grapes, oak, tart fruits, citrus, stone fruits, hint of funk. Flavour is nicely tart with a medium to firm sourness. Body is medium, damn no sign of the 10.5%... Very tasty.

Bottled 375ml. -from Goblet Zagreb, shared with Marko & hrabren. Unclear golden coloured, small to medium sized white head that went away fast, grape and mild spices in the nose. Sweetish white wine, grapes, slightly perfumed, and discreet nutmeg with touch of wood in the finish.

Bottle from Goblet. Hazy, dull golden body, no head. Soft aroma, fresh, white grape raisins, some funk, hay, minerally notes. Nicely perfumey though. Medium body, some white grape notes, salty, raisins, woody notes, soft though. Good balance, some residual sweetness making it interesting and making up for a slightly simplistic taste profile, along with the absolutely missing 10.5%, of course.
