12 ounce bottle. Deep copper red color. Smallish foamy beige head. Toasted malt aroma has toffeeish notes. Sweet toasted malt flavor is reminiscent of dark corn syrup. Medium bodied. Lightly spiced hoppy finish.

Beer is mostly malt in taste and aroma. It works as a pub ale, but I wouldn’t rush to the store to get it. Rated 3/21/03

Nice deep amber coloured body with a very thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, nuts, a bit of hops and some spicey essences. Medium-bodied; Sharp taste of malt coupled with nuts, and a bit of pit fruits lingering behind. Aftertaste shows some sweetness and spices, but mainly consists of malt and more nuts. Overall, a decent oktoberfest - okay for being local, but not great in the global scheme. I sampled this beer, purchased on draught at the Ram’s Head Live [Downtown] bar/nightspot in Baltimore, Maryland on 19-September-2007.
