Michelob Pale Ale is a classic English-style pale ale brewed with classic noble aroma hop varieties grown in the Northwestern United States and Europe, as well as two-row and caramel barley malts. With a dark-gold color, this beer has a spicy, hoppy character. A pale ale pairs well with full-flavored meats, like steak. This beer is best enjoyed in a tall, fluted pilsner glass.

It pours a clear reddish gold with a 1 finger head of foam. Good head retention and good lacing. Good looking brew.
It smells grainy with some hop bitterness and something sweetish in the background. Not a bad nose.
The taste is pretty good. Some graininess early followed by a malty sweetness mid palate and a definite hop bite of bitterness in the finish that's on the harsh side. Mouthfeel is light but near the upper end and the carbonation, imo, is over done.
In no way does this resemble an English style Pale Ale. (that's stated on the label) There are malty and hoppy notes in this brew, yeah, but they just don't compliment each other and the whole drinking experience comes across as a mish mash. Drinkability suffers as a result.

From old tasting notes. Honey gold color. Foamy white head. Faint citrus malt aroma. Bittersweet malt flavor with some spicy hops in finish. Decent flavor and balance.

Pours pale yellow in the glass. Nose is very floral hops. Taste is very acidic, some hops and lemons. Rated 1/15/2000

Bottle. Pours a copper with a small frothy off white head that leaves good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a vegetable malt with raisin and hay. Medium mouthfeel with a bitter malt with a dry finish. Not too much going on with this pale ale from Michelob.

12 oz bottle. Very little aroma here--faint aroma of pine, assembly line grains. Pours a light amber with a rocky head that dissipates fairly quick. Lacing is pretty good, surprisingly. Taste is of caramel, pine, and metal. Not enough carbonation--the same problem I tasted with the Rye P.A. This is an extremely boring pale ale, which is no surprise given the brewer. One final note: the label says English style, but it definitely has characteristics of American pale ales, too, which is not surprising given the Cascade hops it’s dry-hopped with.

Honey and clover aroma. Hazy amber, medium off-white head. Bitter honey flavor. Watery. Bitter with little character. Ingredients seem sub par.

This was a disappointment after I had tried the Dunkelweizen. At Kroger for $5.99. Cheap and very available. If you’re out of homebrew and don’t have the money for Sierra Nevada, this is a possible. Not great but certainly better than most pale lagers. Clear, medium gold body that has a tall, long-lasting off-white head. Subdued citrus hop aroma. Lightly bitter flavor that finishes on the dry side. The Cascades kills it as an English Pale Ale, but it doesn’t have the amount of late boil/dry hops to make it truly American. Go Fuggles/EK Golding or go Cascades.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel-amber color with a huge tan head that provided nice lacing. The aroma was sour floral hops. The flavor was dryish, bitter and had moderate floral hops an a touch of caramel and spice. Mild and rather thin in body. Eh.

Pours bright orange/amber into a shaker. White head recedes at a medium pace to skim surface. Mild pine and resin aromas. Sweet caramel upfront turning metallic with a bitter pine finish that turns slightly sour.
