From old tasting notes. Bright amber orange color. Beige head is bubbly and tight. Soft fruity malt nose. Light tangy malt flavor hints at berries and orange peel.

Yeast aroma and a little like butt. Amber color, no head. Yeasty berry flavor with alcohol, but not very beery. Not very good either. There’s an average amount of hops on the palate, which is the best thing I can say about this beer. I doubt it’s a freshness issue since I had a fantastic hefeweizen from the same summer mix pack.

12oz bottle-pours an offwhite head with copper color. Aroma is sweet medium malt, secondary hops. Taste is sweet caramel malt, light hops. OK carbonation. Label says Mountain Ale, but as others have, I’ll figure this is the same beer based on description. Wouldn’t have known there were berries in it other than the sweetness.

Labelled as Saranac Mountain Ale - label also indicates berries, so this must be the same beer. Initial aroma hints at grassy hops, just a touch floral. Also, a bit of cobwebby yeast, a touch of honey and blueberries, and some vegetal notes of cooked peas. Pours a clear amber with a quick foamy head, leaving just a thin layer of light foam. Lacking effervescence in the glass. Rounded and sweet up front, berry notes are very subdued. A little tart. Finish is thin and sweetish, lacking hops. A bit of a metallic or bitter aftertaste is detectable. Flat and lifeless palate. For the most part, not very pleasant.

Brown bottle, 12 ounces; eye: burnt orange with yellowish reflections, pale beige head that disappears rapidly, no effervescence; nose: honey, small berries (blackberry), hops, caramelized malt, earthy; mouth: not that tasty, a bit of hops, blackberries, finale all in blackberries wrapped with a bit of caramel, lightly sweet and bitter, light body, rather thin, fizzy; overall: not really my style FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 12 onces; oeil : orange brûlée avec des reflets jaunâtres, mousse beige pâle qui disparaît rapidement, pas d’effervescence; nez : miel, petits fruits (mûres), houblon, malt caramélisé, terreuse; bouche : pas très goûteuse, un peu de houblon, mûres, finale tout en mûres accompagné d’un trait de caramel, légèrement sucrée et amère, corps léger, plutôt mince, pétillante; en résumé : ce n’est pas vraiment mon style de bière

Sweet, I mean it smells sweet and tastes sweet, but not in the way that makes it a really enjoyable drink. I’ll drink it if I have it but I wouldn’t seek this one out.

Bottle... summer brews mix pack, running about $1.00 a bottle. Reddish amber with a small head. Very weak/mild armoa... slight maltiness in there, but not much of anything actually. Flavor is wheaty and candylike. Very crisp and refreshing, but kinda bland.

Reddish amber ale with a thick off-white coca-cola head. Sweet grassy malt aroma. Light sweet malt with berry notes, lightly lactic. Rather light bodied but good for summer.

This was a really disappointing beer. The description had me really looking forward to it but this was surprisingly bland. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a slightly reddish caramel color with a small tan head. The aroma is sweet and has a vague berry nature. The flavor is mildly sweet with a light vague fruit flavor. Not much body to this one.
