Strong malty and grassy aroma, very metallic. Clear copper, medium head. Barley malt flavor, well hopped grassiness. Metallic and strangely tart. Leafy and almost vegetal. The vegetable notes become increasingly distinct upon warming.Too hoppy for the style, which normally i would enjoy, but it was more like salad than the hop varieties I prefer. Good intensity, the recipe is weird, and there are quality issues.

Saranac is to craft beers as old mil is to cheap pale lager. Very bubbly darker pale lager brew inthe glass. Nice creamy head. Initially builds on the taste buds. Tries to be a big beer but never quite gets there. Each sip yeilds a medium impact. As the session continues the medicinal malt bitterness does increase. Nice smelling beer. Fresh overall beer experience. Love those saranacs, yesserie!

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a medium sized off-white head. Average head retention. Aroma of toasted and toffee malts and an earthy hop note. The taste is pale malts, sweet malts and a floral hop finish. Medium bodied.

From old tasting notes. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a medium amber color with a medium sized white head. The aroma was somewhat faint but had a sweet maltines. The flavor was a bit off and odd but had a light nutty caramel presence with a touch of smoke and almost canned mushroom juice. No hops to speak of. A bit thin and watery. An interesting idea but it did not do a whole lot for me.

Pale bright copper with med bubbly head. Nearly the color of scotch whiskey. Light malt aroma, hint of apricot, plus herbal hops. Nicely balanced presentation, with a rounded honeyish malt profile with the herbal notes of Fuggles hops.

This beer begins with less malt taste than it should and flattens out making the alcohol/scotch flavor at the end seem unbalanced. Would not benefit from more sweetness, needs some bitter hops, even if in a small quantity.

Amber in colour, quick dissolving head. Sweet floral aroma with pleasant tones. Thin-as-always and a very light and non-powerful taste. Why do I keep buying Saranac beers? I haven't had a good Saranac beer and look how many i've sampled! Do yourself a favour--save money by not buying Saranac beers! Even when they are less than $2 for a single bottle! It's still not worth it.Amber in colour, quick dissolving head. Sweet floral aroma with pleasant tones. Thin-as-always and a very light and non-powerful taste. Why do I keep buying Saranac beers?
