Location: Picked up a 12 oz. bottle at Gilly's, drank it 3/17/09
Aroma: Smokey, roasted malts, perhaps some licorice
Appearance: Dark, almost black, thin tan head that dissipates quickly
Flavor: Flavors are fairly faint, mostly smoke and malts, nose gives away the taste pretty well
Palate: Medium body, little to the finish other then some lingering smoke
Overall Impression: This one was pretty decent, but unless you just love a smokey beer, you'd be hard pressed to call it better then decent. I guess it's a fairly new offering (at least new to bottles), as I'm only the 9th rater.

Bottle. Pours a brown with a small tan head and aromas that are mildly offensive, but seem to steer away from a total disaster with the amount of dark and roasted malt. Still, there is something lurking that seems a bit chemical or something. Flavor is a watery mix of roasted malt, topsoil and bitter coffee grounds (that have been heavily watered-down). This could be far worse, but should be much more intriguing.
