Noble Chaos is an Oktoberfest/Marzen (German-style amber lager) with a subtle hop bouquet and toasted caramel malt flavors. It is a well-balanced beer that finishes fresh and clean. With a pleasant nose and medium body, this brew is a taste of the fall season.

Nice super hazy amber and brown coloured body with a thinnish, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, earth, mushrooms and a bit of earthy malt. Medium-bodied; Strong malty and earthy flavours at first with a definite caramel and toffee flavour coupled with the light hops and rich malt. Aftertaste is nice and rich with a lot of caramel and a ton of earth - pungent and strong for the style. Overall, a nice rich marzen with a big earthy character and a decent amount of caramelised sugars. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased in a six pack from Siciliano’s in Grand Rapids, Michigan on 11-September-2015 sampled while visiting in Northville, Michigan later in the day.

Cloudy brown beer. Small off white head. Crispy semi dry palate. Quite a rich malt base, dry. A little tart fruit, a little malt cream. Finishes dry with typical noble hop bitterness. Different! Not my favourite Shorts but interesting!

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled 8/24/2012. Pours lightly hazy orange copper color with a 1 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of pear, apple, biscuit, caramel, toast, molasses, nuttiness, earth, and herbal spiciness. Very nice aromas with good strength and balance. Spot on to what I expected. Taste of big caramel, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, pear, apple, light chocolate, toffee, molasses, earth, and herbal spiciness. Lingering notes of light fruit, caramel, toast, biscuit, toffee, nuttiness, light chocolate, earth, and herbal spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of flavors; with minimal cloying sweetness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy and fairly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming after the finish noticed. Overall this is a great Oktoberfest! Nice robust flavors with good balance; very smooth and easy to drink. Highly enjoyable stuff; this was a lot better than I expected.

12oz bottle pour to shaker glass. Simple brown color with medium head. More complex taste than I expected . . . roast, malt, nutty, with some bitterness. Yes, I will have another please!

Bottle via a trade. Pours with a hazy copper body with a fading tan head. Aroma is sweet, toast, corn, bread, berries, light buckwheat, honey, a touch grassy, some biscuit. A standard but good Marzen aroma. Flavors of sweet, earthy, nutty, caramel, corn, biscuit, quite bitter for the style. Earthy and floral as well. Quite dry. Nicely crisp. Seems like a well made beer to me, quite enjoyable for the style, although not exactly traditional. Lively bubbles, a bit thin, dry and brisk. Lingering bitterness. A tasty beer.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a slight maple hue and a tan head that dissipated completely. Aroma has a relatively strong caramel note with a bit of roast and bread. Flavor begins sweet with caramel but mellows a roasted malts grow with a bread note.
