A traditional English-style brown ale, but with more body. Its deep brown color comes from a combination of Chocolate and Black malts. Tall, dark and smooth – the perfect cure for the domestic beer blahs.

Pour is a dark brown with a large creamy white head. Aroma has some dirty smelling roasted malts and not much else. Flavor is weak and watery. Some malts are noticable but very weak and bland. Got a weird sour chemical thing after the swallow. A piss poor version of a brown ale.

A dark reddish copper ale with a thin moka head. In aroma, a nutty and beany malt, mash tun, a bit cloying. In mouth, a run of the mill brown ale with nutty malt, oily, so-so. On tap at the Mellow Mushroom, Greensboro, August 14, 2011.

12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy brown color, still a bit translucent. Aroma is malty, touch of coca, tinge of bitter coffee. Flavor is roasted malts, touch of toffee, nothing powerful.

Pours clear reddish brown. Nose is malts and light nuts. Taste is same. Medium body.

Aroma: Nice malty nose, caramel, honey, chocolate, toasted malts
Appearance: Nice brown color, clear, tan head
Flavor: Like the nose, malty sweetness up front, sweet, roasted characteristics too
Palate: A bit watery/thin, decent mouthfeel
Overall Impression: I'd seen this one in the store a few times, but never bought it. This beer is fair, I would like a bot more body in a brown, but it had a decent taste, and a nice enough nose.

Chestnul and light maple syrup aroma. Dingy brown, thin off white head. Nutty with a pronounced bitterness. Coffee notes in the end. Thin mouthfeel. Good tasting, but somewhat disjointed.

Pours clear brown with an average sized off-white head. Caramel malt aroma. Light sweetness, a bit of hop dryness but no hop flavor or aroma. A bit of carbonic acid bite to the palate, effervescent and light bodied.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a brownish copper with a small head. Good lacing. Nutty and roasty malt aroma. Taste is nuts, caramel malts and a fruity finish. Thin bodied.

12oz bottle. Brown-amber color with a decent head. Malty, sweet aroma. Medium bodied, the taste dark malt dominated, with a light, crisp hop balance. Sweet, roasty, brown(?), nutty, chocolate aftertaste. A pleasant beer, fresh and sessionable.

Bottle from Total Wine - Midlothian on 04/10/2009. Clear amber brown body with a small off-white head. Sweet nutty and caramel aroma with some pale malt in the background. Sweet nutty and toasty flavor, a very light hint of smoke, and pale malt in the background. Medium body with moderate carbonation. 6/4/7/3/13 - 3.3 Bottle coutesy of Butters on 08/12/2008. Slightly hazy brown body with a medium creamy tan head. Caramel, nuttiness, and light roasted malt aroma. Sweet nutty flavor, light chocolate hints.
