Pours amber with ok head and lacing. Some citrus and a little malt, but comes off a little astringent rather than bitter. Bottle thanks to bmoosey.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled in October 2012. Pours lightly hazy bright orange amber color with a nice 2 finger dense off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, pine, orange zest, citrus rind, caramel, pineapple, tangerine, light mango, floral, grass, and earthy hops. Nice aromas with good hop complexity and balance; strength was pretty weak for a DIPA. Taste of grapefruit, pine, orange zest, citrus rind, pineapple, light mango, floral, grass, light caramel, and piney spiciness. Good amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus zest, citrus rind, pine, pineapple, light mango, floral, grass, caramel, and piney spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice hop complexity and balance; great malt/bitterness balance as well; with minimal cloying flavors present on the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy, slick, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this was a very good DIPA. Nice hop complexity and malt balance; and very smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.
