Combining the bright flavor of vine-ripened raspberries with the original Celis White, Celis Raspberry is a smooth and herbaceous addition to the Celis collection. The raspberry flavor balances the wheat beer’s light body and adds the crisp tartness of fresh fruit. With floral notes of honeysuckle and the tang of plump berries, Celis Raspberry will remind you of summer all year long.

From old tasting notes. Brewed in Austin, Texas. Bright Zinfandel pink color. Small bubbly white head. Sweet raspberry fruit aroma. Wonderful tangy raspberry flavor. There is an underlying lambic-like character here and it makes for a delicious and faithful reproduction of the Belgian classic style.

Bottle: Pours cloudy, light gold, tall white head with a very slight pink tint..... Hyper-foamy, even with a careful pour....and the wait is not worth it. Imitation, watery raspberry aroma...stale....wheat. Taste is flat, lifeless and watery....."raspberry" A little musty....almost tart, but the water dumbs even that down...like a raspberry flavour packet added to a bad ultra-light beer.... not good.

Bottle. Flowery raspberry aroma - hint of mustiness. Cloudy amber color with large head. Floral, lightly sweet raspberry malt flavor. Not bad - not as sweet as the typical fruit beer.

Pour is a peach color with almost no head. Aroma is raspberry and not much else. Flavor is less fruity than the aroma and kind of sour in the end. Might be good with Thanksgiving dinner but for for a sample its pretty poor.

Bottle. Pours a sickly pinkish amber with a thin white/pink head. Heavily artificial raspberry dominates the nose... maybe there is a little bit of an odd vegetation smell, too. Flavor is odd... raspberry doesn’t come through till the finish. Leading up to this \"feature event\" is a mix of spice (I’ll second the cloves), water and metal. Strange, strange, strange. Very watery and a little nasty around the edges.

1996 vintage courtesy of dpflanzer, thanks David. Pours gold with small sediment floaties and thin white head. Big fruity aroma of concentrated sweet raspberries and little else. Very nice inviting aroma and the age is apparent in how even and blunted it is. The taste is even and blended from age starting with semi sweet raspberries that grow toward tart fruitiness as the midpoint approaches. Into the finish it dries up and mellows out leaving a pleasing mildly tart yet sweet raspberry fruitiness behind in the after taste.
