Combining the bright flavor of vine-ripened raspberries with the original Celis White, Celis Raspberry is a smooth and herbaceous addition to the Celis collection. The raspberry flavor balances the wheat beer’s light body and adds the crisp tartness of fresh fruit. With floral notes of honeysuckle and the tang of plump berries, Celis Raspberry will remind you of summer all year long.

This beer pours a clear pinkish-orange color with a medium thin white head that diminishes steadily. Thin rings of lacing. Aroma of raspberries, yeast and corainder. Light, crisp body with a tart raspberry character. Light yeast, spice and bubblegum flavors as well. The finish is soft and fruity, and leaves a sweet spice aftertaste. Average all around.

Strange aroma - raspberry, but a bit medicinal. Hazy amber color with a white head. Thin to medium body with lightly fizzy carbonation. Flavor is sort of unbitter and unsweet. Raspberry, but sort of woody. Gets more acceptable as things progress, but it just tastes a bit strange (to me).

Belgian aroma with a little fruity something in there. Fairly clear light brownish yellow. Raspberry flavor is not sweet. Since it said berry juice was added, expected a more tastful flavor. Average carbonation. This is just a little better than abita purple haze, and that is not saying much. Finish is an odd off fruit on the back center of my tongue. Will not buy again.

Clear light golden body. Verysweet raspberry aroma with a wheat background. Sweet raspberry flavor almost overpowering the wheat background.

Bottle. Raspberry aromas, with some raspberry flavors. The downside is that it isn’t too strong, and it feels a little thin.

I had been rather curious about this one. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a salmon color with a small white head. The aroma is dry and musty with a faint hint of some vague fruits. The flavor is dry and wheaty with some vague dry fruits. The fruit flavor is totally unidentifiable as raspberry. Rather unimpressive.

Faintly hazy pink grapefruit coloured ale with a thin white head. Sweet malt aroma. Rather chemical raspberry taste with fresh malt. Watery bodied. Deception. Mondiale 2005.

2005 bottle consumed 5/28/2005. Pours a clear pink, with touches of light copper and a moderate amount of rapidly receding, bubbly, pink-tinged white head. Little to no lacing. Aroma of raspberries, fresh and soft, but not really juicy or overly aromatic. Hints of vanilla and light yeast, not definitively Belgian in nature, and in fact, I don’t get much in the way of anything other than light raspberries. Maybe some soda water. . .Flavor begins with lightly tart raspberry, backed by a hugely watery mouthfeel and light, dry papery notes. Touches of mildly sweet sugars, hint of vanilla and raspberry seeds. Dry on the fnish, with way too much wateriness. Bubbly, artificial carbonation is overdone. At least its not too sweet, I guess.

Sample at the Mondiale 2005: Poured a light reddish color ale with a bubbly head with minimal retention. Aroma is totally dominated by fake raspberry cough syrup. The chemical smell is overpowering and gross. Taste is also exclusively dominated by this horrible smell. This is a shame that Celis name is attached to such a foul drink.

Poured an eerie hot pink color, with a thin white ring of foam and some lacing. Aroma of raspberry syrup (Smuckers?). Flavor was dominated by raspberry flavors, with a touch of cerealy malts. The raspberry flavors are not too tart, and the body is surprisingly creamy and refreshing. Still, I have to ponder the idea that this beverage is truly a beer.
