Bottle @ J.C.G US Tasting, Pt 3. Pours dark amber with a creamy head and lacings. Nose is black pepper. One dimensional. Flavor has a bit of caramel but is mainly dominated by pepper. Medium bodied. Hmmhh . . .

Brown orange yellow 134. Rocky head. Crisp beer aroma. Good metallic carbonation on the p[alate. Sharp bitter flavors but not in the hoppy way, more like deep malt er sumthin. Long bitter medicine finish, wew. Overall not as spicey or veggie as I would have suspected.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity spicy hoppy aroma with hints of black pepper. Slightly sweetish malty floral hoppy pepper flavor. Has a malty fruity hoppy bitter spicy finish.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-amber color with a medium sized orange-beige head. The aroma was faint fruity, spicy and floral hops. The flavor was dryish and peppery with a tart fruity hop presence that was slightly rough. The finish was medium length tart, fruity and peppery hops. Medium body. Ok.

Draft at the OF. Orange-brown color, nice thick off-white head. Medium-bodied, smooth middle-toned malt nuances. Light peppery finish that lingers a bit. Relatively low CO2, might just be an older keg though. Easy drinking, a touch dry. Not as much hop character as advertised, a tad too mild for me. More of a pepper-lager than a pepper-APA.

12 oz bottle purchased at Zipps in Minneapolis, Minnesota by my Dad. Pour is hazy cloudy orange amber with some fine particulates and active carbonation. A lasting two inch head forms pretty lacing as it falls. Very pretty in the glass. Aroma of toasty caramel malt, floral hops and the pepper spice. All play together nicely. Taste is initially citrus floral hops, pretty dirty bitter, behind that is the toasted malt and the ending is the spice black pepper. The taste transition really unusually, very unique. Its as if the black pepper is lying in wait to dry up and spice up the finish. Palate is medium, decent carbonation level. As mentioned, the finish is dry and peppery. As it warms, the finish gets quite vegetal, green pepper. Points for uniqueness on this one.

Bottle. Pours an amber color with a light brown head that lasts throughout the drink. A nice aroma of hops and malts, but I didn’t pick up much black pepper. A nice hoppy flavor with some malt characteristics, but again not much black pepper.

A nice, refreshing, quasi-belgian style pale - slightly yeasty aroma, with some minty and herbal character, light fruitiness, melon rind - starts with a grain/rye kind of flavor, tea-like notes, and some yeastiness - gets a tad floral and peppery through the middle - finishes with dry, crackery malts - refreshing and mildly spicy.

Interesting. A very dry ipa. Not especially bitter and the hops are not so prominent, but this is very dry, one of the driest beers I have ever had. Standard gold color. It reminds me of a Belgian ale.
