30th August 2011
Cloudy gold beer, little white head. Semi dry palate, very slightly crisp edge. Mildly sour lemon and sherbetty citrus. Not involuntary blink inducing but tart nontheless. Finishes dry and tangy. A nice tart weiss!

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown 2011 bottle compliments of FlandersNed poured into a weizen glass. Pours unusual murky opaque light brown center with large deep golden translucent highlights with small white head. Nice thin small bubble lacing, medium body, low carbonation, and tart aroma. Taste is tart/sour lemon, granny smith apple (which is not common for a hefeweizen), and some banana. Good, not like most hefeweizens (especially the tartness), but I would like to have this again, thanks FlanderNed.

12oz bottle picked up at one of the best beer stores around, Champane’s! It pours muddy dark grapefruit with off white head. The aroma is mild with vague yeastiness, wheat and vague fruitiness. It is tough to really pin down what it is I’m smelling. The taste is tart fruitiness with a bit of depth and fresh fruitiness that sort of begins to dry out into the finish. Interesting brew.

Bottle thanks to Sean! Pours a cloudy deep orange with minimal carbonation and no head. Aroma has an odd sour note with some backing banana and sweet grains. Flavor begins with tart fruits but finishes with smooth grains, a hint of spice and a bit of banana. Leaves a slightly unpleasant aftertaste. Really odd, a German Hefe.

Bottle thanks to FlandersNed. Pours like grapefruit juice with pulp. Interesting and odd. Nose of grapefruit, banana, wheat, papaya and tangy citrus. Taste is smooth and similar. Body is a little thin. Very sessionable.
