Bitter and bold. This single hop american style IPA features 100 percent Columbus Hops for an intense citrus, floral and spicy aroma and flavor. Five different malts form the rich backbone that balances the hops’ 77 IBUs. The resinous mouthfeel is followed by a clean, dry hopped finish that refreshes and satisfies.

On tap at Mohawk Bend, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma of floral hops, flower fields, and some light malt notes. Flavour of floral hops, not much else. Good stuff.

Nice and rich copper coloured body with a solid two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of fresh light grassy and herbal hops with a bit of a malt nose and a hint of sweetness. Medium-bodied; Assertive, yet very restrained hop flavour with a good grassy and perfumey character all with a solid malt backbone and a relatively well balanced IPA, especially from the West Coast. Aftertaste is nice with some fresh grassy and herbal notes, a hint of sweetness and a very subdued hop bitterness. Overall, a well executed IPA that doesn’t show as much hops as I expected, but with a solid malt backbone. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased by haddon90 at Pavilion’s Grocery in Newport Beach, California on 01-December-2012 and brought to my doorstep in Washington from Los Angeles, sampled 17-December-2012.

Bottle @ Crooked Stave Reserve Society bottle share. Thanks to A-Dogg / womencantsail for sending this in a stupid box. DMS, creamed corn, light piney, floral aroma. The flavor isn’t fucked as bad as the nose with DMS but it’s still pretty dominant and ruins all the piney/floral hoppy characteristics. I should return this one to sender. I didn’t even get a buzz from this garbage.

22oz bomber pours slightly hazy copper with light tan head. The aroma is full of yummy spicy hops rimmed by little bits of grapefruit and then a touch of cherry hard candy. The taste is yummy spicy hops running head long into a mild level of cherry hard candy like esteriness as well as notes of slivers of malt sweetened floral like hops. I wonder if this has been on the shelf for a bit longer than expected. ISO the freshest sample possible to see if it differs from what I’m drinking now. I’m a sucker for a good spicy hopped brew and this one is really good but isn’t blowing me way like many others have. I find the sort of sweet hard cherry candy note distracting.

Bomber from Beverages4Less in Santee, CA. Pours hazy light amber with a foamy 3 finger off-white head. Aromas of roast caramel and resin. Med body. Flavor is harsh roast malt with some resin, and arguably a bit of citrus. It’s hard to decide: resin or citrus. Seems like both. Definitely bitter, and with time it seems a bit floral. This is an incredibly delicious beer. Just excellent.
