Boulevard Amber Ale is an exceptionally well-balanced beer, complex yet thirst-quenching. American pale malt provides a firm foundation. English specialty malts impart a nutty sweetness, perfectly complemented by noble German hops. The deep coppery color holds the light, reflecting a ruddy glow, and the finish is clean, round, and delicious.

Moving out of KS rate-a-poolza. 12oz bottle poured into a .25L Corsendonk goblet. Bottled on the 356th day of 2012. Best by 05/20/13. The store where I bought this fridges their beers.

Pours with a small head. Color is a ruby/orange dark copper. As the bottle of this bottle conditioned beer is emptied into the glass a very pretty hazy is created. A pretty damn cool color. Aroma is malt heavy but a moderate hoppiness peaks through. One complaint is a bit of a weird estery character behind all that. Flavor is better, lacks the estery character and just an amberish malt and hoppy mix. Eh, its an amber.

Bottle. Floral apricot, tea-like malt aroma. Hazy amber with a large tan head, decent lacing. Nutty, slightly sweet malt flavor. Light body, moderate carbonation. Both aroma and flavor were a bit on the light side.

Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 03/01/2012. Pours a dark amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt and mild hops. Light body with flavors of sweet malt and caramel with a touch of hops in the background. The finish is sweet with a short malt aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

12oz bottle from Pick’s poured into a shaker. Pours a lightly cloudy dark amber with about a finger of thick head. Aroma is mostly caramel malt with some very light caramel hops. Taste is light bitter and light sweet. Mostly caramel with some very light hops. Light-medium bodied with a somewhat thin texture. Fizzy carbonation and an average finish. Overall, not bad. Definitely not my favorite from these guys though.

bottle - Pours clear light amber with a light aroma of caramel or toffee. The flavor is sweet toasted caramel malt. It’s medium bodied and uncomplicated. This clean finishing amber is an okay choice.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 7/19/11

Aroma: The nose is toasty and grainy, some caramel, nutty notes, and some grass/earth
Appearance: It pours into the glass an unclear reddish color with an off-white head and solid lacing
Flavor: The taste is fairly malty and toasty, light-medium sweet, with a light bitterness to it
Palate: Medium bodied, but unfortunately overly carbonated to the point of hindering drinkability
Overall Impression: I thought this was an alright amber ale, but I didn't love it. For me, these guys seem to be all over the map, I never really seem to have much of an idea of which of their beers I'm really going to enjoy going in, but I can usually tell pretty quickly which ones are quality and which ones are less then...

12 oz bottle into English pint. Pours hazy amber with a medium light-beige head that lasts about a minute. Aroma is a bit funky along with the caramel malt and nutty character. Taste is mostly sweet with some faint bitterness and sour hanging around in the background. Nice nutty flavor. Carbonation is medium-high, body is medium. Another nice amber. My tastes must be changing because I used to dislike ambers. They’re growing on me.
