Boulevard Amber Ale is an exceptionally well-balanced beer, complex yet thirst-quenching. American pale malt provides a firm foundation. English specialty malts impart a nutty sweetness, perfectly complemented by noble German hops. The deep coppery color holds the light, reflecting a ruddy glow, and the finish is clean, round, and delicious.

On tap at Hudsons. Pours a clear amber with a small frothy light beige head that leaves good sticky lacing. The aroma is a sweet malt and roast. Thin mouthfeel with a bready malt and cereal. Easy to drink a very amber from Boulevard.

Bottle: Clear copper/bronze color with a finger of creamy khaki head. Not much going on in the aroma; malty sweet with very light earthy and floral tones. Fairly plain malty base. A little sweet with some grass. Faint florals. Pretty plain.

Bottle shared by LtDan. Pours with a hazed amber body and a medium sized off-white head. Aroma is caramel, grassy, noble hops, grain with a bit of baked (unspiced though) apple. Flavor is grainy, earthy and spicy noble hops, and a large amount of acetaldehyde. A bit of caramel in the finish. Medium carbonation.

Hazy light amber/dark copper beer - small ring of foam - nose of raisin, caramel, bread dough/yeast - a bit acidic and abrasive at first - mild sweetness and some chewy, bready, sort of dense yeastiness - mild hops and minty character - finish of toasted grains - pretty effing bland, but at least not seriously flawed.

Shaker pint draft at Swagger, Kansas City, Missouri. Pour is slight haze almost clear amber-golden with a smallish off white head. Aroma is mild sweet malt, along with some citrus hops. Clean, fresh though a bit dull. Taste is toasty, bready sweet malt, followed by the citrus of the nose. Minor flint and gypsum notes in the finish. Palate is medium to thin, active carbonation, brief and clean finish. Decent enough Amber, but like many Ambers a little un-adventerous.

Pour is a copper with a large with head. Aroma is a sweet caramel malt and not much else. Flavor is again sweet malt with almost no hop presence. It’s an amber ale and there is not much to it.
