Amazingly smooth and refreshing, Flemish Style Ale is drenched in dried cherry flavors that compliment its slight fruitiness and heavy sour finish. Sure to become one of your favorite Beers.

22oz bottle picked up at Bevmo
Appearance: Clear amber with a medium sized white head and some lacing
Aroma: Dusty caramel and fruity
Taste: No other way to describe what I tasted, puke
Terrible, footbalmed the rest of my glass and the rest of the bottle.

Bottle sample at the 1st Israeli Sour Tasting. Thanks Dagan. Clear amber-brown. Malty smell, somewhat oxidized, with caramel, and some cardboard and sherry. Sourish flavor with some slightly sweet malt and fruits. Medium-bodied.

Bottle from a trade with cbkschubert. Pour clear copper color with off white head. Aroma of sour cherries and some weirdness I canโ€™t really describe. Tart cherry flavor with some caramel and some off flavors. Not exactly a Flemish sour. Medium body with modrate carbonation. Thanks Craig.

Bomber a gift from Kiapepito and Enniskillen they got at Bevmo Salinas. Nose is light tart cherries, brown sugar, and a little milk. Clear rusty red with a small beige head. Flavor is a little tartness mixed with cherries and a lot of metallic notes. Not near as good as their Saison I had last.

Slightly hazy deep amber/ruby/brown tinted body with a thin tan head. Aroma of and odd mix of malt, caramel, vinegar, cherries and a little strawberries - odd, for sure. Medium-bodied; Funky malty flavour at first with a little fruitiness but mostly a dry malty and caramel flavour. Aftertaste shows pretty much all malt notes, a touch of earth and pungent hay with a little vinegar and sweetness. Overall, not such a good beer in any respect, but especially to the style - not a good beer at all. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from BevMo in Walnut Creek, California on 19-March-2011 sampled at home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on 02-April-2011.

Bottle. Ruby-bronze beer with a tan head. Sweet malt and light tart aroma with light fruit. Tart and sweet flavor with malt, oak, and light acetic notes. Medium bodied. Sweet malt and fruit lingers with tartness.

Bottle at Maxโ€™s tasting. Pours reddish brown. Nose of plum, malt and dog food. Taste of apple vinegar, cranberry and malt. Odd.

Bottle. Pours with a lightly hazed penny colored body with a head that fades quickly. Aromas of caramel, biscuits and raspberries. Light mint. Light vinous notes. Flavors are kind of nasty. A bit of a burn in the back of the throat. Rotten garbage. Caramel, some acidity, some red grapes. Short duration. Sourness seems to be all lactobacillus. Some appricot. Light carbonation. Not horrendous but not worth the calories.

Bomber from the Natomas BevMo. Pours ruddy copper with a foamy beige/tan head. Rather odd smell - kind of sour, kind of milk? Med body. Flavor is arguably tart, but itโ€™s quite fruity. I think diacetyl is in the mix. Took that aroma for milk. Odd drink. Sour. Diacetyl. Caramel. Tartish fruits. Not saying itโ€™s a great beer. But, had it not been rushed, perhaps it might have been. Iโ€™ll wager this could be tweaked into something very good. But for now, I suspect haste made waste. As is, itโ€™s still head and shoulders above many pale lagery things.
