This beer combines the rich, roasty flavors of a porter with those found in a traditional pumpkin pie. The complex aroma practically jumps from the glass. An intriguing mix of chocolate and spice… The flavor is robust with notes of dark chocolate, pumpkin pie and a caramel sweetness accentuated by a generous addition of molasses to the boil. The interplay of the cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and allspice gives this beer a very pleasant finish.
Additional Information:
The pumpkins used in this brew were grown at Larry Jacinto farms right down the street from the brewery. We were very excited when Larry told us that he had a great crop of pumpkins growing literally ½ mile from the brewery. Once the pumpkins were seeded and quartered, we teamed up with the Gourmet Pizza shop in downtown Redlands to utilize their giant pizza oven to help roast all that pumpkin. This beer was a true community effort!

On tap at Harry’s Hofbrau. Like many pumpkin beers, this is really pumpkin spice and Porter. A lot of upfront allspice and nutmeg. Color is brown with some red or orange highlights. Tastes similar to smell. Get slight chocolate and minimal roast from the base beer. Not a bad pumpkin beer as far as they go.

Bomber from Imbibe Wine. Nose is spicy cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg with pumpkin and light chocolate. Clear brown with a medium, lightly lacing beige head. Flavor is pumpkin pie all over, really nice as smooth.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours dark brown with ruddy glints and a creamy tan head. Aroma is primarily pie spice. Med body. Flavor is chocolate, dark malt and pie spice. Might be a veg hint. Veg isn’t my forte. Overall it’s tasty and rather out of the seasonal mainstream. Nice stuff.

On tap. I feel that they have brewed this beer before with a different name. Pours with a near black hue with a small tan head. Aromas are roasty, molasses, pumpkin seeds, earthy. Light spice, some chocolate. Flavors are dry, roasty, chocolate, light spice, a touch vegital. Very earthy. Some sweet molasses.
