Pours black into a snifter. Off-white head with medium retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Milk chocolate and coffee aromas. Soft with watery dunkin donuts coffee front to back. Not a fan of dunkin donuts...

Pours a solid dark brown with faint garnet highlights when held to light and a huge fluffy tan head that persists forever. Wicked coffee aromas waft towards my nostrils the second I pop the cork off the bottle. Upon closer inspection I find traces of sweet sugar and chocolate in there, but this one is a coffee bomb. The flavor has a hint more malty sweetness than the aroma suggested, but not much more. Light chocolate, caramel and brown sugar malts come through in vain before my taste buds are smacked by Juan Valdez. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a creamy oily mouthfeel. For me the coffee is over the top on this one, but then again I don’t drink coffee. I’m amazed at how they got such a huge coffee presence and still retained a decent head and creamy mouthfeel without a bitter or acrid coffee bite. Well made beer, just not my cup of coffee.

On tap at Harpoon. Pitch black 1/2 finger head. Still no lacing. Big roasted dark coffee. It’s big and smells like a chocolate filled cup of coffee. Lots of licorice and mollasses. Taste is solid. Dark and semi-sweet chocolate. Finish is espresso crema and raisins

Paid $5.99 @ my local Market Basket. English pint glass shows a deep brown color with very small beige head. Little retention. Nose has a rich organic coffee and roasted aroma. Flavor is light coffee and vanilla. Secondary flavor of bitter chocolate. The body is a bit thin. Texture is lightly ashy. If they could double the body on this; it would be exceptional.
