Cute growler, the alcohol punch is at first appealing but past that a ni Ely toasted, non astringent, warming light sweetness. Not a sweet or heavy beer. Just dial down the barrel a bit and I would love it.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a murky amber brown with a tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has notes of bourbon and caramel with some bread and toffee underlying. Flavor has caramel and toffee throughout supported by bourbon and some sweet grains.

Sample at Great Taste of the Midwest on 08/09/2014: Pours a cloudy dark brown color with amber around the edges. Medium light beige head that diminishes steadily, and partial rings of lacing. Aroma of bourbon, malt and caramel. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, caramel malt and dark fruit. The finish is boozy with an oaky vanilla and malt aftertaste. Enjoyable beer all around.

Sampled at GABF 2013. Pours a clear caramel amber with some beige head. Nose of booze, caramel, orange, rum, coconut. Flavor is sweet, malty, brown sugar, caramel, orange. Very boozy finish.

GABF 2013. Pours an orangish brown appearance with a little tan head. Big sweet bourbon, caramel, toffee, a touch fruity aroma. Rich brown sugar, toasted caramel malty, bourbon, light vanilla, oaky flavor. Easy to drink and fun beer.

Growler, sent from mista (thanks a lot, Geoff), pours a dark mahogany / caramel with a small beige head. Aroma of caramel malts, brown sugar, and moderate bourbon barrels. Flavour of caramel, dark fruits, moderate bourbon barrels, and candied sugar. Very complex, with all the flavours working in harmony. A little sweet, but in no way cloying. The bourbon barrels add a wonderful layer of complexity. Excellent stuff.

Winterfest 2013. Brown color and a fairly thick palate. Light bourbon aroma. Flavor is sweet with toffee as the description says. Very good.
