This is our flagship beer which is brewed exclusively with Citra hops. The aroma is an intoxicating bouquet of grapefruit, tropical fruit, lemon, and pine.

bottle - Gold pour with a lingering white head. It definitely has a citrus smell. It tastes very fruity/citrusy too with pale malt providing a good balance. It’s medium bodied and has a dry finish with lingering bitterness. Very tasty.

Reviewed from notes. Thanks Joe.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a pale amber body with orange hues and a quickly dissipating off-white somewhat foamy head. Lacing was barely there.
The aroma had a ton of citrus rolling into light tropical tones of mango, pineapple, grapefruit, and then gently backed up by some light pine.
The taste takes the harsh bitter side of the citrus to combine nicely through the sweet tones of the tropical notes. There’s a light aftertaste of citrus sweet to bitterness rolling into a semi-dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable bitter dry feel rolling over my tongue.
Overall, APA or AIPA, I don’t know, but real good, wish I could get it on a daily basis, if I could, I’d be pounding this in the Summers.

Solid APA. Big Citra hop tones, surprising amount of depth. Drinks clean and easy, but not too light or one-dimensional like a lot of single hop beers. Quite tasty. Medium bodied. Solid offering.

Bottle thanks to Brian. Pours a clear orange gold with small frothy off white head that lasts. The aroma is strong citrus, tropical, and resin. Medium mouthfeel with nice juicy fruit hop, light resin and bitterness. Very good.

Bottle. Light amber body. Off-white head. Lots of citrus in the aroma: Lemon, grapefruit. Notes of tropical fruit, toasted grain and a hint of caramel. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet, moderately bitter and lightly to moderately acidic. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Clean with lemon tartness lingering in the finish.

Bronze and copper coloured body with a thin, one centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of light citrus hops with a good malt noticeable and some light fruity smells of apricots and lemons. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive herbal and citrus hop flavours at first that show more hops than malt, but the malt is noticeable shortly after with some cardboardie notes. Aftertaste shows a good light and fresh hop flavour with a little sweetness and some hints of bitterness at the end. Overall, a nice crisp and refreshing APA with more hops than malt. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 02-August-2013 for US$1.99 sampled in Grosse Ile, Michigan on 04-August-2013.

12 oz bottle as Citra Pale Ale. Pours a hazed orangey golden with a couple particles of hop debris and a white head. Grapefruit orange hop aroma with a touch of pine. Flavors of bright grapefruit hoppiness, orange and lemon, some toasty malt background and a touch of pepper. A well-done, tasty APA. Really nice, especially on a hot, humid night like this.

12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 12/10/2018. Pours slightly hazy medium golden amber color with a nice 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn, pine, honey, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/light earthy hops, and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn, pine, honey, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, honey, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/light earthy hops, and moderate bready malt flavors; with a fantastic malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly crisp/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 5.75%. Overall this is a fantastic single hopped American pale ale. All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/light earthy hops, and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Perfectly balanced juicy, vibrant, dank, and fairly earthy Citra hop complexity; with a great bready pale malt backbone, and minimal residual sweetness from crisp resin drying. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example. One of my favorites.
