5AM Red Ale is 5 malts, 5 hops and 5% abv. But that’s where the order ends.
Jump in and you’ll find berry bouncing off marmalade clashing with caramel cosying up to chocolate buzzing off spice sizzling with toast laced with lychee and colliding with biscuit.
As malty as it is hoppy. As anarchic as it is structured. Bitterness and sweetness, all neatly messed up in a triumph of pure chaos.
Perfect, baffling symmetry. Go fathom 5AM.
Malts: Maris Otter, Caramalt, Munich Malt, Crystal and Dark Crystal Malts
Hops: Nelson Sauvin, Amarillo
Dry Hops: Simcoe, Cascade, Centennial, Ahtanum, Nelson Sauvin

Bottle from Soho Wine at home. Ruby copper pour with slightly tan head. Aroma is very malty but pierced by several hops notes - sharp, banana, pine, a bit plasticky. Taste is a bit empty and palate too thin/empty but flavors are nice. Some passion fruit hoppiness, pine, good amount of malts. Not great.

Ciemno miedziana barwa z genialna bialo-zolta piana ladnie oblepiajaca szklo.

Draught at Ginger Man. Hazy copper red with small beige creamy head, crisp malt aroma, light caramel taste, hint of citrus, thin body, medium carbonation, medium finish with alcohol aftertaste that surfaces rather late. Very interesting brew.

330ml into glass. Lemon/grapefruit nose. Hazy red ale with thin scummy head. Light easy drinking, short hop then malt finish. Every mouthful is preceded by a nose full of citric fruit. Excellent.

Clear amber color with big head. Aroma is fruity-hoppy, really, a hint of berries, and pines as well as caramel malt. Taste is typical red ale, earthy and caramely, but the hops are also very present and with a pleasant bitter finish. Medium carbonation, rather light body. A good hoppy red ale!

Bottle, 0.33l. Clear ruby color with medium creamy tan-like head and good lacing. Aroma of berries, orange peel, spices, pine, caramel malt and burnt sugar. Taste starts moderate sweet and rich malt, follows by fruity acidity with some citric notes and moderate bitter finish. Medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Pleasant and enjoyable session beer...
