Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a deep black with some light brown highlights with no head. Aromas of soy sauce, dark chocolate, cream and molasses. Taste is soy sauce with a strong roasted cacao and malt character. Fairly smooth...almost pinot noir like in texture. Not really that special and bit boozy at the end. The oatmeal gives it a nice softness.

(330ml bottle @ PiBar, Lausanne, Aug 11 2015) Pours black with a big pillowy off white head and lots of lace. Aroma is not particularly strong, chocolate powder, softly grainy cereal/bread notes, coffee, light roast, anise, maybe some fruit. Palate is equally soft and balanced with a core of dark malts that are fairly sweet with milk chocolate, vanilla, dark fruit, oatmeal, liquorice, thin acidic roast like light roast coffee towards the finish. Medium-full and quite creamy in the mouth with soft carbonation. Feels great and the balance is good, but lacks some punch to stand out flavour-wise.

Bottle, 330 ml from Pivoljub, Ljubljana. Pours black with tan head. Roasted malts, coffee, chocolate. Sweet. Had this acidic note which ruined it for me.

Bottle. Pours inky black, small tan head, dissipates fairly quickly, decent lacing. Aroma is roasty, molasses, anise. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter, lots of molasses and anise, roasted malts, cocoa. Medium plus body. Pretty solid offering.

Strong Dutch stout with coarse and loose, light beige head and black colour. Aroma of walnuts, fondant, whisky, cocoa, caramel, bayleaf, paprika and something strangely ’meaty’ or even ’fishy’ (fresh sea fruit - if I had to taste this blind, I’d suspect it to be an oyster stout). Sweet, candied onset with salty touch (soy sauce), hearty and umami flavour, thick and oily mouthfeel, a bit sticky, toasted bread and roasted bitterness in the end but not strongly coffeeish, bitter chocolate, herbal hops and warming, whisky-like alcohol. Very good stout.
