(330ml bottle from Kihoskh) Pours pitch black with essentially no head. Aroma of semisweet dark chocolate, earthy coffee, toasty roast, vanilla, oak, a little toffee, a dry smoky spicy note. Taste is sweeter and oh so smooth and unctuous. Dark chocolate fudge, earthy coffee, toffee, fruity whiskey edging towards fortified wine/liqueur notes with vinous raisins and dried pit fruit/dark fruit. Oak with vanilla, cocoa, earthy coffee, toasted grain, smooth subtle whiskey heat and more fruity notes mark the finish. Long smooth spirit/coffee aftertaste. Light warming alcohol. Full oily body, very light carb. Something about the barrel just jams with this lovey base here, I love this. Probably my favourite Weasel variant!

Bottle bought some place I can’t remember. Pours viscous pitch black with a small creamy dark mocha head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and roasty with roast malts, caramel, toffee, burnt toast, charred wood, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, roasted paprika, moist soil and whisky alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and roasty. Mouthfeel is fat, soft, velvety, round, tiny astringent, tiny boozy and full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, peat, moist soil and whisky alcohol. Surprisingly good for a Scotch BA imperial stout. Yummy if a bit paprika heavy in the nose. Huge mouthfeel!
