Black with creamy tan head. Aroma has roast, chocolate, cherry and wood. Woody, bitter flavour. Vanilla and cherry. Interesting, delicate in a way, but not entirely convincing.

A pitch black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of coffee, roasted malt, alcohol, and cherries. The flavor is sweet with notes of cherries, coffee, roasted malt, and alcohol, leading to a dry coffee finish. A bit overdone on the barrel aging on my tastebuds.

Taste is stingy, roasty and slightly vinous with hints of cherries, berries, coffee, wood and tartness. Finish is roasty and slightly stingy with hints of berries, tartish cherries and milky coffee. Okay.

Aroma is a bit musty, floury and somewhat tart with cherries. Flavour has tart berry juice, some licorice, chocolate and . Ashy and dry finish is what this and bourbon version have in common.

bottle from ølbutikken. pitch dark, large smooth brown head, going from light brown at the top, to dark brown in the bottom. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, faint cherries, very full aroma. Flavor is roasted malts, salt, faint fruits, quite dry, also slightly watery, ends very hard roasted malty with a little salt. the wood is quite prominenet, giving a salty impression.

Bottle bought @ Kihoskh. Pours viscous black with a small mocha head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and fruity with roasted malts, burnt caramel, sour cherries, dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, burnt wood, sweet liquorice candy, burnt wood and moist soil. Taste is tiny sweet, bitter, sour, malty and fruity. Mouthfeel is velvety, slightly dry, astringent, slightly tart and medium to full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and sour with roasted malts, sour cherries, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, moist soil, burnt wood and ash. Bit too sour and a bit too rough from the roast. Unbalanced version of an otherwise great beer. Smells nice though...
