Just love making IPA's, so here's another one that uses a newer hop blend called Zythos that is just delicious and should be enjoyed with a blow-up doll or something similar.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a cloudy orange with medium off white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is pine and citrus. Slick body, grapefruit, dank, lingering bitterness, very good.

750ml bottle courtesy of gregwilsonstl, pours with a nearly clear copper body that has thin gold hues and supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up pink grapefruit, pineapple, candied lime and a resiny hop note blended with softly bready malts. The taste starts with pineapple and candied lime hops rolling into a resiny lime to bitter floral hop note. To midway it picks up malt sweetened fruity hops as well as persistent hop bitterness. Interesting as the lime and floral and tropical fruit notes try hard to pull this together and they nearly make it. Cool brew with a fairly unique hop profile.

Poured from a bottle with a best by date of 07/2015. Aroma is fairly malty with quite a bit of toasted bread and caramel with lighter pale cracker malt notes. Moderate hop aromas of grapefruit and tropical fruit. Pours a hazy reddish copper color with a large, thick, light tan head that exhibits nice retention. Moderately high lacing and medium sized legs. Flavor is similar to the aroma with a fairly strong toasted bread and caramel note with lighter nut and cracker notes; this is straying close to American barleywine. Flavor has moderately high bitterness. Moderate grapefruit and citrus notes with lighter pine resin and tropical fruit. Some nice fruitiness in the finish once the malt character fades. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, this is a clean beer but entirely too malty for my personal taste. The hops are nice but hidden behind all the caramel malt and toasted bread notes.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a slightly orange edge to it and a thin frothy head. Aromas are thick with fruit. Papaya and oranges with a little resin and some caramel/toffee. Flavor is malty with a big burst of hops at the tail end... lots of resin and a hint of the fruits in the nose, but the resin takes over. Mouthfeel is chewy and a grain dust flavor distracts just a bit. Booze is present and prominent. Decent IIPA.

Capped 750 from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours hazy, dirty orange gold with a foamy/frothy white head. Wow. This has citrus, resin, floral. Nose pounding. So, that’s a bit over the top, but it’s a very powerful aroma. Med+ body. Flavor is earthier than the aroma suggests, with lots of citrus, and some resin. It has an earthiness that you’d find with coffee - tho I don’t think I’m getting coffee. Lots and lots of flavors, and the finish is dry, bitter and hoppy. Really good ale.

Pour is a bright orange with a small white head. Aroma is all hops and no malts. Flavor is about this same. A aggressive citrus hop with a little red grapefruit and big bitterness. Nice hop resin left on the tounge after the swallow. Alcohol is not detectable so this could be dangerious. Very solid.
