Poured from a bottle. Looks to be the second release with a fill date of 3/28/2013 and a bottle date of 1/10/2014 with 408 bottles produced. Aroma has a fairly strong bourbon note upfront with some light oak. As that fades you pick up moderate notes of caramel, toffee and burnt sugar. Some lighter dried fruit notes of raisins and prunes. Light alcohol spice. Pours a hazy, murky, burnt amber brown with a medium sized, moderately thick tan head that exhibits decent retention as it recedes to a thin film that lingers on the edges. Medium lacing and medium legs. Flavor has a moderate sweetness with quite a bit of fruit character and less bourbon than in the aroma. Moderately strong notes of caramel with lighter toffee and burnt sugar. Moderate raisin, fig and prune notes with some light notes of dried stone fruit. Medium bitterness. Low oak notes with medium low bourbon. Light alcohol spice. Perhaps a hint of acidity. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent wee heavy. Nice malt notes with some good fruit character. Not too sticky sweet. A lot of bourbon in the aroma but less in the flavor which helps the balance.

Bottle pours with a clear copper body that supports a near white head. The aroma offers up a mix of some modest maltiness, some caramel malts, sweet molasses and then an earthy wood note at the end of the draw. The taste delivers sweet malts, some molasses and a modest degree of tart red wine notes. Pretty nice.

Bomber from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours dark ruddy orange with a slight white head. Aromas of brown sugar and mild bourbon. Full bodied. Flavor is oak, bourbon vanilla over a moderate sweetness and some smoke. Drinks really well.
