After Saison du Fermier had been fermented in and aged in Chardonnay barrels for several months, we inoculated one barrel with wild Missouri yeast and bacteria and continued the oak-aging. This added deep layers of complexity and soft, rounded oak nuances to Oude Fermier. This old farmhouse ale was aged for 18 months before its release. [Released 6/27/2014]

Bottle @ Perennial during RBSG. Pours a hazy golden orange appearance with a white head. Lemon citrus, mild funk, a bit peppery, lightly lactic nose. The flavor was dry, refreshing, and subtlety fruity. Some apricot / pear notes. A bit of must / cobweb and just a hint of cheese. Pretty fucken cool brew.

Bottle - Sour lemon, apple and the funk. Hazy gold with a bubbly white head. Lemon tartness up front with funky to follow. Wish for the life of me I had more time and qty to taste, as I like this one immensely.
