Naturally smoked malt highlights this seasonal "rauch" (meaning "smoke" in German), aged in wet whiskey barrels, sweet peat flavors, blend with vanilla and candied brown sugar, finishing with a hint of black pepper and a wisp of smoke.

Bottle - Toffee, chocolate and no smoke I can sense. Clear maroon, with a brown head. Little bacon and smoke, lots of caramel and toffee, chocolate and a long finish. Well rounded and mellow, but not as smokey as I would like.

Light brown, hint of smoke in the nose, bit of the whiskey, caramel malts. Fairly smoky, some husky malts with a toasty, caramelly character. Maybe even a hint of chocolate. Good beer, nothing stands out.

Bottle from Legacy Liquor, Vancouver
Beautiful dark amber to mahogany color, clear, with generous compact head. Delicate but persistent aroma of smoke, peat, wood, acidulated milk, roasted nuts. The mouthfeel is off-dry but quite smooth; the caramel flavor is delicate, layered with peat and some schinken, some milk cream, a bit nutty too; rather low bitterness, and weak final.
Pleasant Rauchbier, but timid.

650mL bottle, pours a deep dark amber with a medium beige head. Aroma of light smoke and dry bready malts. Flavour is much smokies than the nose suggests, drowning out whatever else is there - maybe some bready caramel malt. Dry smoky finish with low sweetness. Decent.
