Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is rather fruity with lots of berry, dark cherry, raisin and prune notes. Light roast and chocolate notes with hints of leather and tobacco. Hints of oak and bourbon. Pours dark brown, almost black with a medium large, fairly thick and frothy, dark tan head that recedes quickly to a thin film that lingers on the sides for a bit before disappearing. Light lacing and small legs. Flavor is moderately acidic with a light sharpness to it; way less acidic and sharp than I was expecting from an early de Garde beer that has been forgotten about for a few years. A moderate sweetness with a moderate amount of malt character with chocolate and roast dominating with some lighter toasted bread, tobacco and leather. Moderately fruity, but less so than in the aroma. Blackberries, dark cherries, raisin and prunes. Faint oak and light bourbon notes. Hints of alcohol spice. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low, but present alcohol warmth. Overall, a much better beer than I was expecting, especially with its age. The acidity is moderate and well rounded rather than sharp. Fairly fruity, but balanced with a nice malt profile.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with medium beige head that lasts. The aroma is leather, wood, funk, bourbon, vanilla. Thin mouth, very tart, flavors similar to nose, funky, oak, boozy finish, really enjoyed this.

Bottle. Pours dark brown tan head. Nose/taste of bourbon, oak, cocoa, sour dark fruit, vanilla and coffee. Medium body.
