12 ounce bottle from State Line. Pours a dark brown color with a huge foamy brown head. Good head retention. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, vegetal notes and mild fruit. The taste is roasted malts, nuts, tart fruits, vegetal notes. Thin bodied, seems a bit infected.

Pours a dark, oily black, with minimal, tawny head. Aroma of roast grain, chocolate, coffee. Flavor is very smooth, chocolatey, with some coffee, some leather, some dark fruit. Pretty good stuff.

Stamped on the side, best by 03/21/15.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown color with a creamy to tan looking one and a half finger head. It maintains the head for at least a good minute and a half. Gentle sticky lacing sticks and slides into the beer.
The smell had a graceful amount of roasted coffee bean leading into a nice sweet sticky cocoa.
The taste was basically the same and has a super nice smooth as sweet graininess to it. A palatable sweet coffee/chocolate aftertaste bleeds into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was good for me and for the style. A nice rolling sweet smooth gracefulness pervades over my tongue.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good oatmeal stout that I would have again.

12oz bottle, 4218 stamped on the bottle (August 6, 2014). Pours with a big head. Aroma is smooth roast, a nice dark maltiness and cocoa unsugar sweetness. Wish the flavor followed the aroma. More acidity and a thinner flavor. The beer becomes a one note roast vehicle. Slightly astringent at the end. Bottom line: just a thin roast beer.

GABF 2014. Pours a deep brown appearance with a creamy brown head. A touch fruity nose. Burnt ashy flavor with some chocolate and a little bit of smoke. Decent but nothing great.

12 oz bottle purchased at Lukas Liquors in Kansas City, Missouri. Bottled on 4218 stamped on the bottle (August 6, 2014). The pour is dark brown with a well formed two inch dark khaki / cocoa head. The aroma is faint char roast malt, grass and a bit of malt sweetness. The taste is toast malt, twinge of roast, somewhat stale coffee notes, some cocoa sweet, milk, grass, oats and pine hop in the dry finish. The palate is medium bodied, active carbonation and the dry finish. Coffee notes linger quite a bit. This was not 100% my thing, though well made.
