bottle from BevMo at home 11Feb11 pours hazy deep ruby red with a thin tan head. Aroma is nice with cascade hops at the forefront, pine and citrus as well. Flavor is biscuit and caramel with strong pine and juicy orange and peach hop notes finishing very dry. Nice stuff.

En 2009:a provad vid 2010 års julölprovning. Lite trött i humlen men väldigt välbalanserad och lätt för att vara imperial. Honungssöt malt och en tropisk frukt med melonvibbar. Ganska besk. Ingen Wow-känsla tyvärr men ändå riktigt bra.

Bottle. Hazy chestnut color, tiny tan head. Aroma of caramel. Taste has lots of caramel, but also some bitterness toward the middle and finish. Light spice as well. Not bad.

Refrigerated big bottle poured into a shaker. Pours an opaque reddish-brown with copper highlights, small dense beige head. Some lacing, low carbonation, and pungent aroma. Taste is dark malt and finishes heavy piney hoppy. Alcohol comes through and based on the ratings this is dissapointing.

At a tasting, thanks DSG, almost no head, murky red colour with deep orange hues, flavour of orange marmalade, orange blossom and peel essence, quite herby and floral, malty sweet jaminees with pine and herbs. Good.

Re-rate 4/9/12: Bottle sample at a tasting at Rotem’s place. Thanks beerandbeyond. Hazy orange. Aroma of old hops with a bit of citrus. Sweetish flavor with some malt and a nice bitter hoppy finish. Medium-bodied. Not bad but too old. 6/3/7/3/13=3.2

Bottle at a tasting. Cloudy amber with a beige head. Aroma of piney hops, some fruits and a bit of malt. Sweet malty flavor with some caramel, cookie hints and bitter hops in the finish. Medium to full-bodied. 7/3/7/3/14=3.4

Sample at SBWF, probably from last season. Pours redbrownish without any head. Malt and caramel taste. Tierd hop aroma. Barley wine like.

Bottle shared with Knut Albert at Olympen. Dark amber body, slightly cloudy. Decent beige head. Smell of dried fruity hops. Taste of spiced apricot, bitter berries and mid-sweet malts. Rounded off by a solid bitterness. Good stuff (Oslo, 06.08.2010).
