Bottle 650ml vintage 2014 @ yngwie. Shared by shalg. Pours black with a few beige bubbles. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, earthy, bourbon, vanilla and coconut. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, chocolate, bourbon, coconut and vanilla finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Solsletta 240224. Dark brown color with nohead. Aroma is bourbon, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee. Flavor is bourbon, roasted malt, dried fruit, booze, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, licorice, dried fruit. Very nice beer.

Bottle, 75 cl. 2014 vintage. A dark brown, unclear beer, with more or less no head. The aroma has some boozyness, but mostly it's roasted malts. Dark chocolate, coffee, bourbon, vanilla, hints of licorice and herbs, some wood and a touch of dark dried fruit. It's full-bodied and warming, super-smooth, softly carbonated and not too sweet, with a touch of bitterness. Quite tannin rich too. The flavor too is pretty much like the aroma, super rich and delicious, with lots of complexity. Quite bitter in the finish, dealing with the sweetness. Sure a delicious one. As always with the 50/50 Eclipse beers. 240224

Pours black, small tanned head. Scent is full, fairly sweet, barrels shine trough nicely. mild umami. hints of oxidation. Taste is full, funky, sharp, boozy. Too alcoholic to me, to the clinical side. I guess that it's just very heavy on the bourbon - but it's not as smooth as I'd like. very booze forward.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is chocolate, with lighter roast notes. Some light bourbon and oak notes. Hints of tobacco and leather. A touch of dark fruit. Pours black with a small, medium, thick, light mocha head that recedes steadily to the edges where it lingers for a bit. No lacing and moderately long legs. Flavor has a nice moderately strong, creamy chocolate note with some light roast notes. Hints of dark fruit with some sherry notes. Light bourbon and oak notes, but the oxidation is really starting to show. Only faint hints of alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium full to full bodied and creamy with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer but a year ago this was an amazing beer. The oxidation is really starting to impact this beers flavors. The mouthfeel is still amazing though.

4900th rating, bottle thanks to Russell. Pours black with a tan head that lasts. The aroma is strong bourbon, oak, roast. Medium mouth with strong roast, chocolate, whiskey, vanilla, wood, char, really enjoyed this.

Sample at the Badge-Whore Bowl (OSU vs AL) tasting on 01/01/2015. Bottle #147/400. The beer pours black with a medium thick tan head that evaporates steadily to an outer ring. Small patches of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of oaky bourbon, caramel malt and vanilla. Full-bodied with flavors of bourbon, oaky vanilla, coconut and roasted malt. The finish is boozy with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Excellent beer all around.
